DAY 1, Monday, April 19, 2021
"Green Week" takes place under the winning logo of student Iva Pavlović from 2nd c grade. Her work was created under the mentorship of Professor Gabriela Marin.
On the first day of the "Green Week", student Lucija Magaš held an online lecture "The Wonderful World of Bacteria" in the class of the 2nd c grade. With this work, under the mentorship of Professor Gabrijela Marin, Lucija won the state competition "Describing Systems" last year.
Students Petar Frlet, Matia Pažanin, Marina Gal and Marija Mazija presented the geography class in the 2nd a and 2nd b class of GLOBE, in which they participate under the mentorship of professor Marijana Škunca-Vrkić. In March this year, these students presented their work and won 4th place at the inter-county GLOBE review.
Matea Lerga, a student of agronomy at the University of Zadar, gave a lecture in the 3rd c grade "The impact of microplastics on human health (origin, presence, factors)". The lecture was organized by Professor Višnja Vuko Fantela, and through the Zoom application in Microsoft Teams, other interested students and teachers could follow it.
DAY 2, Tuesday, April 20, 2021
On Tuesday, April 20, student Lucija Magaš gave a lecture on bacteria, and Gabrijela Pataran gave a lecture on electric cars in the biology class in the 2nd A class.
Librarian Tanja Serdarević, in cooperation with class teachers Marijana Škunca-Vrkić and Helena Bekić, held online workshops on making miniature gardens (terrariums) in the 2nd A and 3rd C class. In the procurement of suitable plants for the terrarium, we were assisted by the professor of the Agricultural, Food and Veterinary School Stanko Ožanić, Željko Aralica, who also gave us instructions for their maintenance in the terrarium.
In the English language class, 3rd C grade students had a presentation of "green posters" and a quiz where they showed how much they learned about the celebration of Earth Day. According to the students, the poster of student Klaudija Dražina was chosen for the best work. The "green posters" of the students were created under the mentorship of Professor Marija Perković.
DAY 3, Wednesday, April 21, 2021
On Wednesday, we started with a creative workshop on making terrariums in the 1st A grade, which was realized by librarian Tanja Serdarević in collaboration with class teacher Josip Bačić and all students in that class.
2nd and 3rd school hour in 1st C and 1st A class students Petra Frleta, Matia Pažanin, Marina Gal and Marija Mazija presented at the geography class GLOBE a program in which they participate under the mentorship of professor Marijana Škunca-Vrkić.
At 4 and 5 o'clock in the morning shift, the students of the 2nd C and 1st A class marked the Earth Day with various activities in the English language class under the mentorship of Professor Marija Perković. The activities were carried out by solving quizzes on the topic of Nature and environment as well as presenting posters and presentations on the topic of Planet Earth Day, in which the students of the 1st A grade stood out with their creativity in creating a task on a given topic.
2nd hour in the afternoon shift, 4th grade students, in a German language class led by Professor Helena Bekić, covered the topic of ecology through digital posters of students on the topic of Eco-tips and What I can do for the environment. The posters were made by Petar Stjelj and Matej Gospić.
DAY 4, Friday, April 23, 2021
The fourth “green” day began with a lecture via the Zoom app in 4th c grade. The lecture "Biohacking in genetic engineering: opportunities and risks" was given by Nikolina Kanjer, a student of biology and chemistry at the University of Split. The lecture was organized by Professor Višnja Vuko Fantela and made available to other interested students and teachers via a link in Microsoft Teams.
In the 2nd b class, class teacher Lucija Magaš gave a lecture on bacteria, and student Gabrijela Pataran gave a lecture on electric cars. Both lectures are the result of their research work under the mentorship of Professor Gabriela Marin.
Librarian Tanja Serdarević held a terrarium workshop in the library with teacher Petra Karag, whose children, with instructions and a little help from adults, made their own miniature gardens.
At 12.30, through a video meeting in the Teams application, a three-member Judging Committee composed of: Professor Ivan Raspović, Professors Helena Bekić and Višnja Vuko Fantela, made a unanimous decision and named student Marta Ramić the author of the best nature photography in the "Capture Nature" photo competition.
In the afternoon shift, Professor Ivona Posedel-Jevšček gave an online lecture on Ethics and Ecology in the 4th grade of sociology.
